Velle is an iPhone app for keeping track of the people in your life and the dates that matter to them. That includes birthdays and anniversaries, and also things like a friend’s due date or a nephew’s college exams. People are organized by household, and Velle keeps your gift ideas, gift history, and guest lists for anything you host. Everything is stored on your device. There are no ads, no social features, and no AI.
You’re probably doing this already.
Most of us keep this stuff in a few different places. Gift ideas in the Notes app, holiday card addresses in a spreadsheet from three years ago, birthdays in the calendar, and everything else in our heads. It mostly works, until something slips through and you realize a week later that you meant to reach out.
Velle puts it all in one place so you’re not relying on memory alone.

Why we called it Velle
Velle is Latin for to wish, to will, or to want. We liked it because keeping up with people is a choice you make over and over. Nobody remembers a friend’s big interview by accident. You remember because you care, and Velle helps you follow through on that.
A household, not just a list of names.
Velle groups people the way they actually live. The Martins are one household with two adults, three kids, one address, and a preference for how they like to be addressed. When you’re sending holiday cards or counting RSVPs, you’re working with families instead of scrolling through fifty separate contacts.

More than birthdays.
Birthdays are the easy part, and your phone already knows those. What tends to get missed are the moments that only happen once, like a sister-in-law’s due date or your best friend’s first week at a new job. Those are the times when a quick text or a small gift really lands.
You can save any date in Velle for a person or a whole household, along with a note about why it matters. That includes the harder stretches too, so you know when someone could use a check-in or a little extra support. Velle lets you know what’s coming up with enough time to actually do something about it.

Why I built Velle
Over the years I’ve missed moments that mattered to people I care about. Not birthdays, but things like a friend’s big test or a due date. I’d find out after the fact and feel terrible, because a card or a quick note would have been so easy. I just didn’t have a good place to keep track of those things, or anything to remind me when they came around.
I built Velle so I’d have that place, and I think a lot of people could use one too.

Yes. Velle lets you know ahead of time so you have room to plan.
How is Velle different from the Contacts app?
Contacts stores phone numbers and emails. Velle keeps track of everything around them, like households, important dates, gift ideas, preferences, and how each family likes to be addressed.
Is Velle a personal CRM?
In a way, but a more intentional one. Most personal CRMs are built for networking. Velle is built for family and close friends, and it’s organized around households, gifts, and gatherings.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. It’s included in your iCloud Backup and is never sent to our servers or shared with anyone.
Does Velle use AI?
No. Velle keeps what you put into it and shows it back to you when it’s relevant.
Can I export my guest or card lists?
Yes. Lists export with each household titled for the occasion, whether that’s “The Smith Family” or “Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith.”
Can I import my existing contacts?
Yes. You can bring people in from your iPhone’s Contacts and organize them into households.
